This photo saved our lives…

We stopped for gas on our way to the MUTEMATH concert. Just as we were pulling into the gas station I took note of a guy walking across the parking lot towards the building. Didn’t think anything of it. Several minutes later, when I was finished pumping gas, I noticed that the reflections on the window of the car looked pretty cool so i got my camera out and started taking a few pictures of my brother Kyle through the window. They started complaining, “Can we go to the concert now?” while I said, “hold on, i’m taking pictures.” Then we got back on the road. A few miles later we came up to a big traffic jam on the turnpike, but we couldn’t find any news about construction or delays on the radio. After a few minutes of slow traffic as we got closer we realized there was an accident that had just happened. A few cars in the middle of the road, people standing around (including the guy I saw at the gas station) and some visible damage and debris. We continued on and just a little further we saw a wheel barrow on the side of the road against the center concrete barrier. Then a little further, we saw a big work truck with other wheel barrows and equipment pulled over and two guys walking back on the shoulder of the road. We speculated that what happened was that wheel barrow fell off the truck and caused the accident involving that guy i saw. We also speculated that if I hadn’t paused for those few minutes to take this photo, that could have been us in that accident…

Whoa…
